Rotweilers are good dogs but must be trained by a firm hand that can be gentle at the same time. These dogs NEED attention.

I have a uncle who owns two rotweilers that I enjoy seeing. Contrary to belief these can be very good dogs if raised correctly from a young age and not taught to be vicious.

all sources I have on hand say that the rotweiler originated from ancient Rome. In Rome they were used for cattle drovers, pulling carts, and wore their masters purses around their necks on market day. So guard dogs and dog fights were thought of long after the rotweiler was doing these duties.

Rotweilers protective of owners

yes rotweilers become naturaly protective of their owners and close family. If you want a dog that will protect you from danger then this is the dog for you.

Rotweilers like to get outdoor exercise so if you don't have the room for a rotweiler to get it's exercise and want a happy dog then perhaps this is not the breed for you. '
